Only The Best Ingredients
With over 20 venues to choose from, including classic pubs, popular eateries and bars, relaxed restaurants and cafes, and trendy street foods and takeaway, we won't let you go hungry in Myrtleford and its surrounds. We pride ourselves in serving only the freshest and most flavoursome foods, with many of our ingredients grown right here in the Ovens River valley.
The rich and fertile soil of our region has been a magnet for farmers since the pastoralists drove their cattle down from the north over 170 years ago. Almost 100 years later during World War II, another cultural evolution was sparked with the arrival of the Italian prisoners of war. Many of them were put to work on local farms, befriending the locals and sharing their cultural traditions and knowledge of fresh produce. After the war, many Italian immigrants made their way to Myrtleford, toiling in the old tobacco fields by day and farming their own plots and vineyards on the side.
Our rich Italian heritage and love of food and wine is as strong today as it ever was. And these days, Myrtleford has grown to become a melting pot of cuisines – the cultural heart of Bright & Surrounds – with restaurants and cafes serving everything from across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Australia. While the flavours may vary gloriously, there is one thing our restaurants and cafes all have in common: a love of quality and the best fresh local ingredients. We welcome you to come and dine with us. Fa' come fossi a casa tua. Make yourself at home.
